About the
Studio.
A small, deliberate studio building software that lasts, for clients who know the difference.
Our Story
Making tech solutions accessible.
Matchbox Studio started with two convictions: most agencies are tough to work with, and most of the people who need great software have been priced out of getting it.
The big agencies do good work. But their overhead, their process, and their pricing puts them out of reach for the businesses that often need a thoughtful technical partner the most. We built Matchbox to close that gap. By staying small and selective, we keep our costs lean, simplify the process from XY to Z and build meaningful relationships with our clients.
We work with a small, hand-selected roster of clients at any given time. That focus means we're never just shipping tickets. We are genuinely thinking about your business, your users, and the system you're building for the long haul.
Our approach is direct and transparent. We write clean, well-tested code. We push back when a requirement is unclear. We say no to features that don't serve the user. And when something isn't working, we say so early.
Our name comes from the idea that our partners bring the kindling, the vision, the problem worth solving, the spark of something real. We bring the match. Small, precise, built for a single purpose. Done right, that combination lights something that lasts.

How we work
Three principles we refuse to compromise on.
01
Craftsmanship
Good enough isn't. We write code we'd be proud to show anyone, readable, tested, and thought through to the edge cases. The architecture you inherit from us is one you'll want to build on, not rewrite.
02
Simplicity
Complexity is easy. Clarity is the hard work. We actively resist scope creep, over-engineering, and abstraction for its own sake. If there's a simpler solution, we'll find it and argue for it.
03
Partnership
We're not a vendor. We're a partner. We invest in understanding your business, your constraints, and your ambitions. You'll hear from us when something concerns us, before it becomes a problem.
